IPOB Press Release
April 05 2025 | IPOB
We, the noble family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, want to notify Biafrans residing in Northern Nigeria to quickly return home due to the retaliatory threats from various Northern groups and individuals stemming from the unrest caused by the killing of alleged Hausa hunters in Edo State.
IPOB leaders have amassed enough evidence to determine that the safety and lives of Biafrans, especially Ndigbo in the North, are in great danger. Throughout the history of Northern Nigeria, violence has been directed at Ndigbo for reasons unrelated to them. The recent mob activity in Edo against alleged and recognized Northern hunters and terrorists serves as another example.
Chinua Achebe states in one of his books that the sole factor that unifies Nigeria is the hostility towards Ndigbo, who are currently resisting the recent assaults. Only a tree is aware that it will be felled yet remains rooted in the same place. Ndigbo, that rooster that announced the night and a child passed away in the morning is crowing once more. Ndigbo must be vigilant and prepared for the wickedness they are scheming.
Ndigbo, ensure that you and your families do not fall prey to the victims added to the history of Igbo killed in the North. If, as a parent, you are unable to abandon your business, properties, and estate in the North, at the very least, send your family back to Alaigbo. Those of you staying in the North must prepare for self-defence when the bloodthirsty creatures act on their threats. We are issuing this urgent plea because we do not wish for what occurred to Ndigbo in 1966 to occur again to our people caught them off guard and unready once more.
Furthermore, Alaigbo is rapidly advancing, progressing and developing and no Igbo individual should expose himself, his family, and businesses to the unjust tribal prejudice and violence in Northern Nigeria any longer. We are ready for them. No man should kill in the North we will have retaliatory consequences. IPOB is not pleading them not to attack, but try it and see the response.
IPOB hopes our people will avoid the danger zones and move to areas where ESN can more easily ensure their safety when necessary. Northern Nigeria consistently poses a threat to Biafrans, especially Ndigbo.
More crucially, the Nigerian government and the DSS must detain Fulani police officers named Hadaina Hussaini Taki and Isyaku Shehu Gano for menacing attacks on Southerners in the North. If the DSS declined to interrogate these two individuals, it indicates that the Nigerian Police and DSS are supporting and facilitating the Fulani terrorists and those who menace the Southerners in the North.
It is clear that if these unapologetic Fulani terrorists in the Nigerian Police were Southerners, the Police Headquarters would have already apprehended and expelled them from the force. The Nigerian government has secretly designated the Northerners, especially the Fulanis, as a protected and favoured group of terrorists that can intimidate and wreak havoc on others without facing repercussions. However, they need to realize that no one holds a monopoly on violence.
Given that the DSS has openly recognized self-defence as legal, it has become crucial for the indigenous populations in the South to organize and equip their young people to protect themselves from the aggressive Fulani terrorists. According to the DSS Director, do not rely on the Nigerian Security Forces for your protection. Ultimately, Ndigbo in the North, you can choose to move to Alaigbo, which is secure, or remain in the North to acquire weapons and protect yourselves.
